Vacation - Tuttle Style

This year we went on vacation with the Tuttle's. We drove to Durango, Colorado and got to spend the week in the mountains. It was a new experience for us to go camping. The campgrounds we stayed at were really nice and we met some neat people along the way. Our camp site in Durango was right on the creek. Living in Odessa it's easy to forget that there are things like creeks. It was awesome! We went white water rafting on the Animas River. Sidney loved it! It was my first time to go and our guide made sure we had a memorable time. He hit every patch of rough water on the river and everyone got soaked. Note for future raft trips - don't wear jeans! Damon and Uncle Charlie got to check out several brew pubs. Carver's was the best of the bunch. They make their own root beer and it is just amazing! We took a day trip to Mesa Verde. I am so proud of Damon for overcoming his fear of heights to take the Cliff Palace tour. There were several spots where the trail was only a foot wide with a good drop off the side. It's a place that I had been to growing up and I'm glad that I was able to go back with Damon and Sid. On the way home we stopped in Las Vegas, New Mexico and met our cousin Matt for dinner at Charlie's Spic & Span. Yummy! The food was great the entire trip. Thanks Uncle Charlie and Aunt Jeanie for letting us tag along with ya'll! This picture reminded us of the picture Gigi painted for Damon last Christmas.

New Addition

Damon has finally fulfilled his dream of owning a motorcycle. Can't say that I'm thrilled about it but I'm glad that he's really happy with his new toy.

Crash....Into Me

I think that 2008 will be remembered as "the year of the insurance claim." Fortunately, Damon only got a few burns to his arms from the airbag. Unfortunately, the people that caused the accident didn't have insurance. So we're a one car family again for a while anyway.
