Christmas Tree Revealed

Sidney is hiding behind the tree.

Yes that is a pink metallic Alamo on the tree.

My mom made the snowflakes and I made the stockings for Damon and my first Christmas together.

Winter Wonderland & Christmas Parade

The week after Thanksgiving we had 2 days of beautiful snow. Here are some of the pictures that Damon took.

This was our first year to go to the Christmas Parade. We didn't bring chairs so we wound up sitting on the curb. Lesson for next year. There were so many people too. We only stayed for the first hour but it was very neat and Sidney enjoyed getting to see all the kids and pretty lights.

Massie/Jackson/Tuttle &Friends Thanksgiving

This year we went to Austin to spend Thanksgiving with my family. It was so good to see Grandma and Grandpa's new home and spend time with so many of our family members that we don't get to see as often as we would like. Thank you Meredith and Scott for sharing your beautiful home. You are wonderful hosts and we love getting to stay with you! The Tuttle's hosted the Thanksgiving meal at their home in Buda and the food was so good. Grandma made 4 pies which were very yummy. Sidney had a ball playing with Haylie and Zoe. She loves being around other kids and had so much fun running around with them. Aunt Pam shared some of her baby wisdom with me and it was a huge help on the way home. Sidney isn't a good traveler but she was an angel on the way back and only cried for a few minutes the entire 6 hour trip. Here are some pics from our frenzied 2 days in Austin:

I love that Sidney is getting to know Grandma's infamous blue chair. Grandma gave her a ride around the lobby and they had so much fun.

Grandpa has been on a winning streak with Bingo. I think he's won over $2 so far. We got to play a few games with them before we went back to Meredith and Scott's. Bingo!

Grandma making my favorite - lemon pie. I have lots of memories of my mom making this pie for holidays and Aunt Pam's pie crust recipe made it extra delicious!

Aunt Jeanie and Grandma working on pie#4: chocolate pecan! Mmmmmmmmm

Grandpa and Uncle Lloyd: The Massie Men

Grandma and Grandpa were so happy to be with us. I know that our holidays with them are limited and I'm really glad we were able to be with them this year. It makes me feel connected with my mom and brings back so many good memories.

Sidney playing with the big kids. Runny noses and trampolines covered in leaves are not necessarily a good combo.

"What is that?" was the question of the day. The answer: Cucumber Water. Which we found very refreshing and different.

Aunt Pam and Uncle Charlie prepping the Turkey.

Here we are watching the Cowboys game. Not the best picture but the only one I got of Matt who is making a funny "I'm trying to eat here" face.

The Architect

Every year UTPB hosts a "distinguished" lecture series and this years speaker was Karl Rove. He was surprisingly normal and very funny. My friend Laura and I were able to meet him and get an autograph before they whisked him away.

Happy Halloween!

This was Damon's year to choose Sidney's costume. She was almost Darth Vader. Ha! She makes a cute tiger though. Good choice Dad!

Dallas Trip

This past week Sidney and I went to visit my amazing friend Denise Carter and her family. We hadn't gotten to see the newest Carter - Ethan Riley until this trip. Callie and Sidney had so much fun playing together. Here are some pics from our trip to the Fort Worth Zoo:

Ken McLeroy 1941-2007

Damon's uncle Ken passed away September 12th and the funeral was today. He was loved by so many people. I remember him always making me feel welcome in their home and he was always ready to laugh and joke. The service was very beautiful.

The church in Denver City prepared a meal for the family so we were able to visit before everyone had to return home. Here are some of the pictures I was able to get:
